Geographical Locations of the Savanna Biome
There are several areas where Savanna biomes are located. The Savanna Grasslands can be located in areas that are in between tropical rainforests and deserts. These areas include places such as America and The North and East of South America (Brazil), the North of Australia, and Central Africa (Kenya). Africa has Savannas on both sides of the equator, which are bordered by the Kalahari desert to the south and the Sahara Desert to the north. There are around 30 countries in the region, and some of these include Nigeria, Zambia, Ethiopia and Uganda. The Savanna Grasslands takes up almost 46% of Africa. Savannas which are caused from climatic conditions are called climatic savannas. Savannas that are caused by soil conditions are called ephadic savannas. There is also a third type of Savanna. It is known as the derived savanna. It is caused by people clearing forest land for crop growing.
