Biotic Factors in the Savanna
Humans:
Humans do live in the Savanna, and have been living there for some time, building houses, farms, factories and mines. Ever since the European settlers came to Africa and settled there, the human population has increased by hundreds, and the animal population has decreased by thousands. This has caused a massive affect in the Savanna.
Animals:
When humans came and settled in the Savanna they brought with them foreign farming animals, such as cattle. This introduction of new animals affected the animals that were already in the Savanna. Cattle have taken away territory that belonged to the wild animals and have also taken away grazing plains for the other animals to feed on grass.
Plants:
The grass and other plants in the Savanna provide food for a range of animals. The grass also provides camouflage for some animals and has been proved important when predators are hunting for prey.
